Permanent workplaces are listed in a register kept by Statistics Sweden (SCB Processing plant - Several pressure retaining devices together making up an integrated, functional unit intended for a particular process Protection circuit - Part of a processing plant or an installation which is separately protected and can be shut-off from the process or the rest of the installation 4 AFS 2005:2 Section 14 - Classification of installations Protection circuit ”requirement G”: Contains vessels requirement G, pressure equipment category I or simple pressure vessels PxV>200 barlitres Protection circuit ”requirement K”: Contains vessels requirement K, pressure equipment category II, III and IV or simple pressure vessels PxV>1000 barlitres 5 AFS 2005:2 Section 15 - Classification of installations A party erecting a processing plant or part of an installation (not an assembly) and comprise one or more pressure containment circuits subject to requirement G, shall draw up installation documentation with a P&ID It shall contain a description of the extent of the installation and its division into protection circuits In order for the protection circuits to be classifiable as provided in Section 14, a list of the assemblies and devices to be included is required, together with requirement specifications. 6 AFS 2005:2 Section 16 – General provisions All installations shall be constructed and erected in such a way as to afford adequate safety. They shall also be designed in such a way that the maintenance and supervision needed for safety reasons can be performed in a satisfactory manner. 7 AFS 2005:2 Section 17 – Essential safety requirements Processing plants or other parts of installations consisting of protection circuits which are subject to requirement G (not assemblies) shall meet the essential safety requirements for installations as stated in Annex 1 8 AFS 2005:2 Section 18 – Installation ”control” (Plant inspection) Processing plant or other parts of installations consisting of protection circuits subject to requirement K, may be put into service only if they have undergone installation control as provided in Sections 19 and 20. The control shall have been carried out by an inspection body. 9 AFS 2005:2 Section 19 – Installation control Installation control shall have included examination of compliance with the requirements of Section 17. The installation documentation prepared in compliance with Section 15 and the requisite instructions for erection shall have been examined prior to erection The installation shall have been examined after erection, to verify that it is constructed in compliance with assessed installation documentation, instructions for erection and these Provisions, and that there are no deviations important for safety. 10 AFS 2005:2 Section 20 – Installation control The installation control shall have included design review (Section 10) and manufacturing inspection (Section 11), of joints between the following items: •vessels subject to requirement K • pressure equipment in categories II, III and IV • simple pressure vessels with PxV exceeding 1,000 bar litres, • connected pipelines subject to requirement K • Pressure accessories and safety accessories pertaining to the said devices 11 AFS 2005: 2 – Installations (documents and inspections) Requirement G Requirement K(+G) DOCUMENTS Installation documentation: P&ID Description Division into protection circuits List of assemblies and devices Inspection body shall review: Installation documentation Instructions for erection INSPECTION Essential safety requirements Inspection body shall assess: That there are no deviations important for safety left, after erection *) *) Joints between vessels requirement K, pressure equipment in category II, III and IV, simple pressure vessels pxV>1000, additional design review and manufacturing inspection performed by inspection body 12
