Evidence of Microchipping and Desexing Microchipping Microchip number must be provided. Desexed cat or dog A copy of the desexing certificate from a qualified Vet. Non Desexed cat or dog CATS: Desexing is mandatory for cats being registered in Wyndham. The exemptions to this are if: Your cat is over 10 years' old; or The owner is registered as a domestic animal business (evidence must be provided); or It is detrimental to the cat’s health (evidence such as written advice from a qualified Vet must be provided); or The owner is member of, and the cat is registered, with one of the following organisations (A copy of a document or letter confirming the owner’s current membership and animal’s registration must be provided) - Australian National Cats Inc., Cats Victoria Inc., Feline Control Council (Victoria) Inc. or The Governing Council of the Cat Fancy Australia and Victoria Inc. DOGS: Desexing is not mandatory for dogs being registered in Wyndham, however you will not receive the discount for having a desexed dog unless: You have a working dog, kept for working stock (evidence must be provided on letterhead by the proprietor of the business/stock or some proof that the dog is used daily for working stock or be a current financial member of Dogs Victoria where a current copy of your membership card must be provided); or Your dog is over 10 years old; or The owner is registered as a domestic animal business (evidence must be provided); or It is detrimental to the dog’s health (evidence such as written advice from a qualified Vet must be provided); or The owner is member of, and the dog is registered with, one of the following organisations (evidence must be provided, for example, a copy of your current membership card) - Australia Association of Professional Dog Trainers Inc., Delta Society of Australia, The Gentle Dog Trainers Association Inc., Dogs Victoria, Top Dog K9 Training Academy or Four Paws K9 Training. Lifetime Registration Tag As part of this application you’ll receive a lifetime registration tag which must be worn by your pet. The tag will be mailed to you within 7 days of your registration being received. Guard Dogs on Commercial Property A dog that is kept for the purpose of guarding non-residential premises is automatically a dangerous dog under the Domestic Animals Act 1994. Once a dog is deemed a dangerous dog it cannot be revoked - the dog is a dangerous dog for life, even if it ceases to be used for the purpose of guarding non-residential premises. Privacy Statement Your personal information is being collected by Council for Pet Registration and in in accordance with Section 18 of the Domestic Animals Act 1994.
