What is
Oxfam TrailwalkeR?
Trailwalker comprises of three challenges
in one event.
A satisfying physical and endeavor:
to complete 100kms in 48 hours or 50kms in 24
hours.
A fun team exercise:
to do the above as a team of four, you have to
start together, stick together, and finish together.
It takes training and preparation and involves the
support of some volunteers to back you up along
the way.
A rewarding fundraising enterprise:
to commit to raise at least 60,000JPY per team
to support the work of Oxfam.
About OXFAM TRAILWALKER
Oxfam Trailwalker is a worldwide challenging team event.
 Began in 1981 as a training exercise
for the elite Queen’s Gurkha Signals
Regiment in Hong Kong
 Now takes place 17 areas in 2015
 Since it began, over 135 thousand of
walkers have taken on the challenge
and raised over US$ 42,469,000
around the world.

・More than 6,000 people in total have participated since 2007
・A total of some JPY 420 million have been raised through the event
WHO IS OXFAM?
 Oxfam is an international confederation of 18 organizations.
We works in more than 90 countries.
 Oxfam was founded in Britain in 1942. Oxfam has been working to
right the wrongs of poverty and injustice.
 Oxfam Japan started activities in 2003. Oxfam Japan has been
contributing to some international projects and support to
reconstruction of Tohoku.
How the donation is used
The donations have been used to implement projects to support Tohoku and
help end poverty and provide vital relief following natural disasters and
conflicts.
Support to Tohoku ~Going To Fukushima!~
”To visit and know Fukushima“
It is the first step we believe to support Tohoku.
Through experiencing the wonderful nature and by meeting local people, you
will see the real face of Fukushima.
Humanitarian Emergency Assistance
Oxfam supports the internally displaced people in Syria and
Syrian refugees with provision of food, water, shelter, and
sanitation facilities such as toilet. Oxfam Japan took part in the
joint efforts and distributed sanitation vouchers to 1,100
families who exchanged them with soap, toothbrush and
sanitary items to suit their needs.
Long-term Community Development
Oxfam works to help create a just world without poverty. To
that end, Oxfam supports people to help themselves. Oxfam
Japan has been involved the project “Enterprise Development
Projects” to provide support for small farmers in the
processing of their produce, skills development and financial
services. In FY2015, Oxfam is implementing 13 assistance
projects in 12 countries around the world. .
Advocacy and campaign
Oxfam has kept the civil society informed of the progress of
the global debate on poverty and development, and engaged
in advocacies and campaigns to gain understanding and
support from wide range of people. Oxfam Japan deliveres
Oxfam messages to the Japanese people.
