An unknown author once said, “In family relationships the

loyalty are important values that we at the C.W. Howard
Agency always keep in mind when doing business.
Clarence “C.W.” Howard began his career in 1951, selling
life insurance in Butler. As a one man operation he believed
serving the customer was the most important thing an
insurance salesperson should do. Shortly thereafter he added
personal insurance, (home, auto, umbrella, collector’s vehicles) along
with commercial insurance (business, manufacturing, farms, municipalities and fire departments).
He continued with his belief in the traditional core value of serving the customer first. His core
values of trust and loyalty extended to valuing his customers and community as much as valuing
his family.
In future years he was fortunate enough to have his son, David C. Howard, join him. David, a
C.P.A., also embraced C.W.’s customer first philosophy to ensure all business was based on trust
and loyalty to provide the best products and services for our customers. While David maintained
the traditional core values of the Howard Agency, he realized in order to maintain excellent
customer service; businesses must welcome innovation to keep current with new products and
technology.
Today, with 15 employees, the C.W. Howard Insurance Agency is a full-service independent
insurance agency. We are technologically savvy but continue to maintain the ‘family and business
customer first’ philosophy. In the past, C.W. Howard often filled out the insurance applications
sitting around a client’s kitchen table enjoying a cup of coffee. Currently, the Howard Agency
