The mother engagement with a lesbian could not be much elaborated due to lack of information on her background and psychological aspect. But being with the lesbian for long years could be an economic dependence to support her children. Also due to the norms and values in the Philippine setting, the mother did not admit her relationship. On the other hand, in the perspective of the student, his mother having a relationship with a lesbian is not a big issue because he sees the importance of the lesbian in providing economic needs of the family. On the contrary, there are suspected tease “kantiyaw” with the student about the “lesbian relationship of his mother” that’s why he was easily been influenced by peers. Lack of guidance from parents is also an important factor here. The student and her mother are wondering how he would be able to continue his studies because they are lacking financially. The mother is not that inflamed to send his son in school because she has no money to get his son’s card. Alleged separation from the lesbian who she is dependent for money could be a secondary reason. At this point the student is hesitant and lack of motivation to continue schooling because he might ended dropping again because of financial matters.
