Over the last four years Bruce Peninsula Association has hosted and participated in various activities
across the Peninsula to increase awareness of our organization and to create a unified message of
Inclusion for people who have an intellectual disability. We’ve had fun: bowling, playing hockey, meeting
in our new Day Options building, New Horizons, bagging groceries at our local grocery stores. We have a
‘pay it forward’ chocolate give away throughout the communities and you can even order a bagged lunch
and we will deliver it.

A big ‘shout out’ to the anonymous donor who graciously
provided the tickets and flag that allowed some people to have a
Guys Night Out and attend the Owen Sound Attack hockey
game at the Bayshore Community Centre on Wednesday,
February 25th, 2015.
It was a great game to attend, as the Owen Sound Attack
defeated the Barrie Colts 3-0. During the game, Dax was proud
to wave an oversized Attack flag following each of the
Attack's three goals. After the game, everyone also had the
chance to meet Attack defense player, Connor Walters, for a
photo opportunity and an autograph.
Everyone is anticipating the next opportunity to attend another
Attack game.
We are ALWAYS looking
for your pop cans!
We have a crew that
works with some of the
community businesses to
collect pop cans, which
are crushed and taken to
Scone. The funds
collected are divided
amongst the group of hard
working individuals and
also used to offset other
income generating
activities. You can drop
your pop cans off at our
office at 314 George St, in
the blue round barrel
(by the back door,
off of Louisa St.)
My name is Caitlin. I have been volunteering at the Grey Bruce Animal
Shelter on Wednesday mornings. When I am there I walk two dogs and keep
the cats and kittens company. I really like volunteering here because I love
animals and feel like I am helping them. I would really like to see them go
to new forever homes with someone that loves them.
I am glad to work with animals. They really calm me down and make me feel
good. I have recently found out that people take dogs and sometimes other
animals into nursing homes and hospitals. These animals are called therapy
animals. I think that I would like to train and do this job one day.
