The classes to race shall be as advised in the notice of race i.e. Class 1 yachts and Class 2 yachts. Notice
of any alteration to the division between Classes 1 and 2 will be posted at the Club Shed at least one
hour before the morning start.
3. ENTRIES
In order for a yacht to compete, the completed entry form must first be accepted by the organising
authority. The will be a pre race brief by the Race Officer at the Clubhouse at 0930, when the class split
will be announced.
4. NOTICES TO COMPETITORS/CHANGES IN SAILING INSTRUCTIONS

conditions.

6. LIFEJACKETS/BUOYANCY
Adequate personal buoyancy for every crew member must be carried aboard all yachts and worn aboard
all dinghies .
7. SAIL NUMBERS
Boats are recommended but not required to comply with RRS Appendix G. No entry will therefore be

START LINE
See plan. Between buoy ‘S’ and flagpole on Club Jetty.
10. LATE STARTING
A boat arriving late in the starting area may remain under power or tow after the preparatory signal
provided that, after stopping her engine or casting off the tow, she carries out two full 360° turns (720°)
on the pre-start side of the starting line or its extensions prior to starting. Such a boat shall keep clear of
all other boats until she has completed her turns and has started. This amends RRS 42.
11. SHORTENED COURSE
Flag S may be displayed over a yellow, blue or red flag to indicate that the course for Class 1 or 2
respectively shall finish at the next crossing of the finish line. If considered necessary, a boat flying flag
S in conjunction with the yellow, blue or red flags as appropriate will take up station to form a finishing
line with a mark of the course and will record finishers at that point with the appropriate sound signal.
12. FINISH LINE
See plan. Between buoy ‘S’ and flagpole on Club Jetty.
13. TIME LIMITS
The time limits shall be 13.00 hrs, and 17.30 hrs BST. for the morning and afternoon races respectively
except that, if any boat finishes the afternoon race for its class within the time limit, the limit for that
class will be extended until 18.00 hrs BST.
14. PROTESTS
Protests shall be delivered in writing to the Race Officer not later than one hour after the relevant time
limit (or extended time limit for the afternoon race only). They shall be heard by the Racing SubCommittee, except that others may be co-opted to take the place of any interested party.
15. SCORING SYSTEM
The Low Point scoring system, rule A4.1, will apply. Both races will count.
16. TIES
When there is a tie in points between two or more boats, the tie will be broken in favour of the boat with
the lowest aggregate corrected time. This changes rule A8.
18. COMMUNICATIONS
All vessels fitted with VHF Radio should monitor Channels 16 and 37 during races
