LOCA Conference enters the next round in 2016
Location-based services are up and coming: a recent study shows that users know how to handle
location services and push notifications – they are more than just immature consumers. With this
there is much to discuss at the “LOCA Conference – Location technology and Service for retail,
Travel/Aviation and Logistics” which takes place at the 2nd and 3rd February 2016 in Munich,
Germany. Representatives of companies from all of Europe will show different cases and ideas on
how location services as well as digital and intelligent systems are working. Among the topics are
subjects like technologies, in-store concepts and automatization.
Erding, 22.10.2015 – Nearly 85 of users know that they can switch on and off location sharing and
push notification of their apps. This is the result of a survey conducted by the Location Based
Marketing Association (LBMA). Furthermore one third of the Users allow an app to use their location
when they are installing it, over a quarter is accepting push-notifications from the start. This means
the requirements for successful locations-based services are given: in principle every third user can
be reached. But this alone does not make a good campaign. Everything else needed to offer effective
location-based services visitors can learn at the LOCA Conference.
But Marketing and Advertising are only a part of the diverse spectrum of location-based services
which the conference in the MTC Fashioncenter in Munich is focused on. Retail, Logistics, Travel &
Aviation – these are the industries which are betting on location-based services and technologies
right now. The LOCA Conference takes place at this intersection. It is the possibility for all
stakeholders to exchange experiences and to learn from other industries. This interbranch approach
makes LOCA to a worldwide unique event. Accordingly, in February 2016 solutions for warehouses
will play a role as well as digital store concepts. According to the motto “Location bridging Online and
Offline Worlds” the conference will display the possibilities in automatization, the application in
digital signage concepts and in tourism. Furthermore topics like analytics and data management will
also be treated.
LOCA keeps on growing
Because of its big success in 2015 – over 60 speakers from all over the world informed over 500
visitors about the possibilities and challenges of location – the Location Based Marketing Association
(LBMA) decided to make LOCA even bigger. For the coming year over 1,000 visitors are expected
which will come to the lectures and presentation areas. With this step the conference establishes
itself as the European center of location-based services and technologies. Furthermore the award
ceremony of the Show your App Award will provide entertainment after the first conference day.
The mobile app community meets parallel to LOCA in the MTC to exchange news and information
about the app economy. All signs indicate that in 2016 everything will focus on new technologies and
app marketing. Accordingly the App Day focuses on mobile gadgets and their possibilities.
Furthermore augmented reality and sales approaches at the point of interest will be discussed.
