FIRST HOMES ARRIVE AT SHERFORD
Welcome to Sherford, says the new sign across the main street – and this week the Sherford
Consortium has been proud to open the doors to the new community for the first time. The first
homes are now complete and were officially launched by local dignitaries including Plymouth’s
Deputy Lord Mayor, Councillors from the South Hams District Council and Devon County Council,
as well as guests that have helped Sherford to reach this major milestone. This is a landmark stage
in the construction of Sherford and it means that properties are now available to buy, with the first
residents potentially moving in as soon as January!
SHOW HOMES NOW OPEN TO PUBLIC
You can now visit the newly opened show homes to see what life will be like at Sherford. Teams
will be on hand to provide information on the properties and assist with off-plan sales. From
apartments and town houses to mews and detached properties, there will be homes to suit a range
of needs and budgets.
Across the whole of Sherford, 20% of the homes will be dedicated to affordable housing, and those
in need of an affordable home should apply here for rented accommodation and click here for help
with part ownership. There are also a range of purchase assistance schemes available, click
below to find out more.
How do I buy a Sherford home?
THROUGH THE KEYHOLE
The Sherford Consortium has worked with some of the South West’s finest architects, designers
and craftsmen to ensure future residents benefit from high quality, stunning new homes. The show
homes at Sherford have been designed with family living in mind; house-hunters can tour a fourbedroom and six-bedroom property, both fully styled and furnished. These townhouses draw
heavily from the classic Georgian architecture you might see in nearby Plympton St Maurice,
boasting exceptionally high ceilings and sash windows that flood the rooms with light. Peek
through the keyhole here – or come and see for yourselves.

MAPPING THE FUTURE
Sherford has a new map! Looking at Sherford, as you drive along its newly opened main street, it’s
hard to imagine what Devon’s newest community will look like in future years. This illustration of
Sherford gives an indication of what the town will grow to become, as well as looking in more
detail at the area where the first homes have been built. From the first school and leisure centre,
to sports pitches and community parkland, the map helps bring Sherford to life and shows the
sheer scale of this impressive and unique new community.
