MCA Valedictorian Tie Breaker In the event of a tie for Senior Class

MCA Valedictorian Tie Breaker
In the event of a tie for Senior Class Valedictorian, the following rule(s) shall be used to break
the tie:
First, the total of all AP courses completed at MCA with a score of 3 or above on the AP exam
would be tabulated. The student with the highest total of AP classes with a score of 3 or above
on the AP exam (thus the most rigorous curriculum) would be declared Valedictorian.
Next, in the case of another tie using the above method, a second tie-breaker would be
enacted. All AP course exams (3-5 exam results) would be tabulated. The student with the
highest number of all exam results would be declared the Valedictorian.
Example:
AP U.S. History Exam
3
AP Environmental Science
4
AP English
3
AP Calculus
3
Exam score total
13
In the unlikely event of yet another tie, a third tie-breaker would used. All AP course numeric
grades would be totaled and the highest numeric average would be confirmed as the
Valedictorian.
Example:
AP U.S. History
88
AP Environmental Science
96
AP English
92
AP Calculus
84
Grade Average
90
