Over 100 locals of Roadfield village have pledged an hour of their time

commemorate the centenary, including a recent bake sale that raised
£120 for the Poppy Appeal.
Paragraph 1: Detail: Explain HOW, notable points of your story and what has been
accomplished.
Organised by Head teacher Jane Smith, all pupils of Roadfield School have pledged
to help out, making a commemorative mural that will be on display in the Village Hall
until the end of the year. The parish council have also arranged to place a large
poppy on every lamp post in the village to represent locals who served during WW1.
Paragraph 2: External interest: insert comments/quotes, third party involvement or a
call for help if you are planning something.
David Jones MP of Roadfield has commented: “What a fantastic way to engage
young and old in the centenary. Remember WW1 offers a proactive way to make
sure that we never forget and Roadfield have answered the call.”
