Seton High School Honors Program
Seton’s new Honors Program is designed to provide opportunities for acceleration and
enrichment to academically superior students. These students who have proven to excel as leaders in
academics are chosen through the Admissions Process.
Admission into the program is competitive and selection criteria include the following:
Score of 85% or above on the HSPT
Recognized academic achievement, Christian Leadership and service to others through scholarship
essay response.
Received no grade below a 78 on report cards and attains a cumulative average of 85%
Completed the Seton Application/Admissions process
Consistent school attendance
Students accepted into the program have the opportunity to:
Attend various leadership workshops
Enroll in a rigorous course load
Take part in leadership training
Be awarded a renewable academic scholarship
Be enrolled in a test-prep class for PSAT and ACT
Take part in unique service opportunities
Attend and engage in enrichment activities through Mount St. Joseph University:
Speaking engagements such as Sonia Nazario, author of Enrique’s Journey – November
Cincinnati Shakespeare Company’s annual performance – February
Mount St. Joseph’s Celebration of Learning with guest speakers – April
Course Sampling for Freshman Honors Students
Honors English
Honors Math (Geometry or Algebra depending upon Math placement and elementary school course)
Honors Biology
Freshman Focus/Leadership Seminar (1st semester)
Honors Global History (2nd semester)
Foreign Language
Fine Arts
Religion (Awareness and Hebrew Scriptures)

Health (Online) over the summer
Summer PE in cooperation with Elder High School
Opportunities to test into the second level of a language
All students in the honors program are expected to maintain an 85% cumulative average with no grade
below a 78 and participate in leadership opportunities in order to continue in the program and renew
their scholarship.
