This workshop is designed to bring you into the world of problem
based learning (PBL), which has its origins in US medical education,
but has been adapted to engineering education. At Georgia Tech,
they have developed a problem-based learning curriculum in their
Department of Biomedical Engineering, that has been adopted by
Peking University in China and Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi. This
summer, they are partnering with Tokyo Tech to develop a
collaborative educational program in sustainable development that
brings Georgia Tech and Tokyo Tech students together to take on
significant problems in global sustainability and development. In
this workshop, you will experience this innovative pedagogy both as a
learner and as an instructor.
If you are looking for ways to stimulate and energize your
students, please join us!
