CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FOLLOWING CLASSROOMS AND STUDENTS WHO
WERE RECOGNIZED DURING OUR TEAM TIME ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 22, 2016
WE HAVE VALLEY MILLS SPIRIT
1st – 3rd Grade
1st Place - Mrs. Deckard’s 1st Grade Class
2nd Place – Miss Hodge’s 2nd Grade Class
3rd Place – Mrs. Many’s 1st Grade Class
Mrs. Dekcard’s 1st grade class was recognized for the following reasons:
 Great behavior in computer lab and hallway when they had a substitute teacher.
 They were very quiet and working hard.
4th - 6th Grade
1st Place – Mrs. McCort’s 5th Grade Class
2nd Place – Mrs. Staton’s 4th Grade Class
3rd Place – Mrs. Marquis’ 6th Grade Class
Mrs. McCort’s 5th grade class was recognized for the following reasons:
 Waiting at a perfect whisper standing still in the hallway.
 Setting premium example for 2nd grade.
 Helping to clean up trash that did not belong to them.
Both classrooms will display the banner, “We Have Valley Mills Spirit” during the month of January and
will have an ice cream party.
PERFECT ATTENDANCE
For the month of December, the following classes had perfect attendance:
1st Place – Miss Hodge and Mrs. Staton’s classes – 9 out of 14 days
2nd Place – Miss Cottongim, Mrs. Streete and Mrs. Newland’s classes – 8 out of 14 days
3rd Place – Mrs. Taylor and Ms. Kepley’s classes – 7 out of 14 days
Miss Hodge and Mrs. Staton’s classrooms will display the Attendance Trophy for the month of
January and have a pop and popcorn party.
STUDENT OF THE MONTH
A student from each classroom was recognized as the “Student of the Month” for December.
Students were either selected by their classroom teacher or classmates for possessing outstanding
citizenship qualities. Each winning student received a “Student of the Month” Certificate, a window
sticker, and a Culver’s “Student of the Month” certificate for a free single scoop of frozen custard in a
cake cone or dish! Congratulations to the following students:
