By Skælskør Church you can go past
the church itself and after that you come
directly into the town’s oldest square,
Gammeltorv. Here lies the fine old Town
Hall from 1896 with the ”Pomona Well”
in front of. The large red washed building
along the south side of the square is called
Hornung’s Gård after the piano builder
C.C. Hornung who lived here for some
years in the middle of the 1800’s. The
building has in 1992 received Skælskør
commune’s „Building award“ for good and
exciting renovation, just like the building
next door – a former city hall – received
the award in 1995. Back along the curved
street, Vestergade, to the starting point at
