Plant Records
CDG’s Plant Records module allows users to represent an inside and outside physical
plant network to link to subscriber accounts and/or trouble tickets. The module
provides easy access to Customer Care, physical plant records and the data associated
with plant functions.
BILL WISELY
Plant Records gives you the tools to efficiently track
circuit details, equipment, facilities, line treatment,
network interface devices, company-defined fields,
special circuits, associated service addresses and
circuit hunt group information related to a circuit.
When viewing circuit details, the user can also
link to related Customer Care information to see
what customer services are linked to a circuit. With
information linking your plant records to Customer
Care and Trouble Reporting readily available and easily
monitored, your operating costs can remain low.
CDG’s Plant Records module gathers detailed data
from a variety of sources, drawing on user input and
other CDG modules to create comprehensive records
of a telecom’s existing network facilities.
The module also provides the user with information
about service connections, available services, plant
capacity and other operations. The Plant Records
module interfaces smoothly with the MBS Customer
Care and Trouble Reporting modules, providing an
integrated system for accessing customer service
information, as defined by the physical plant, and
the information about outstanding service problems
associated with a particular customer.
The Plant Records module can be customized to
handle any level of detail that a user requires. Whether
your company prefers detailed facility records or less
comprehensive information, your plant records can be
customized to meet those needs.
PLANT CONFIGURATION
The Configuration application allows users to view and
modify plant information in order to categorize and
maintain your plant records.

PLANT CONFIGURATION FEATURES
Plant Equipment Create and/or modify equipment
details that define circuit components, line treatments
and network interface devices.
Plant Facilities Create and/or modify facility details
that define circuit components.
Plant Groups Define circuit group types and circuit
groups that are typically used for circuit “hunt” grouping.
Plant Map Interface Define information associated
with the third-party mapping system and the
statements that link MBS data to graphical maps of
plant information (CDG currently supports MapCom M4).
Plant Statuses Define customized statuses that most
closely match user business practices. System and
customized statuses can be associated with circuits,
equipment and facilities to change the status when
circuits are installed, removed or when items are added
or removed from a service or circuit. This function can
be useful for setting telephone status codes to Vacant
or Assigned when a service is added or removed from a
circuit. The user may want cable or Internet statuses to
use Assigned, On Truck or In Warehouse when service
is added or removed from those services.

Multiple Search Options Search for circuits by
circuit ID; various types of equipment and facility
information; the name of persons or organizations
associated with the service; primary information for
cable services, user ID for Internet services or service
number for landline services; service address; circuit
group; or additional custom values.
Circuits Lists the circuits that match the entered
search criteria.
Circuit Highlights Core circuit information for the
selected circuit, including circuit ID, leg, status and
cut sheet information.
Notes View note information associated with the
selected cut sheet.

CIRCUIT MAIN VIEW FEATURES (Fig. 2)
The Circuit Main View contains all the information
associated with the circuit.
Circuit Options Easily enable access to modify DSL
and/or Special Circuit information related to the
main landline circuit information.
Associations View information about the services
associated with the circuit and easily access circuit
history and NID or ONT information.
Service Information In-depth information about
the selected service including either service or
equipment information, as well as feature, comment,
address and census block and track information.
Circuit Readings Detailed circuit reading information,
such as ring code, loss, load, noise and loop.
Circuit Information Detailed circuit information,
including IDs, host, IP, card, hunt group, wire center
and facility/route information.
Custom Company-Defined Fields Unique custom
fields can be added.

Trouble Ticket Display a list of Trouble Tickets
associated with a circuit. This option also allows the
updating of listed Trouble Tickets or the creation of

Event Notifications Open the Event Notifications
application to view and send notifications, reports
and scheduled modules and batch jobs.

Reports and cut sheet capabilities record the mass
update of equipment and facilities information
associated with a circuit.
The Utilities application allows users to access common
areas used throughout MBS, including the cut sheet
processing screens.
Cut sheets allow the user to define changes to be made
to plant circuit equipment and facility relationships in
a mass update process. With the use of cut sheets, the
user can make a mass change to these relationships
without going into each individual circuit and the
equipment and facilities associated with the circuit.

Parent Cut Sheet Associate the assignments of
related cut sheets for individual technicians.
Child Cut Sheet Indicates the parent cut sheet
associated with the child cut sheet.

Print Sheet Print detailed information for the
selected cut sheet.
The cut sheet process allows users to create tasks that
define the individual changes to be made. These tasks
allow the user to select which network element to
change on the circuit and specify the change to be made.
