This combined bus and walking tour is an excellent way for first-time visitors to get to know Tallinn.
Departing from the major hotels throughout the city centre, a bus tour first takes you to the most
interesting parts of the city, with stops at the Kadriorg Park, Song Festival Grounds and the seaside
district of Pirita. An experienced tour guide will provide you nonstop with commentary about Estonian
history and contemporary life. The walking part of the tour takes you through the UNESCO World
Heritage Site of Tallinn Old Town.
The walking tour starts at the Upper part of the Old Town – Toompea Hill. You'll have a photo stop at
the Palace of Toompea that today houses the Estonian Parliament Riigikogu, visit Aleksander Nevskij
Cathedral, and the Dome Church. You’ll have a chance to enjoy the picture-perfect view over the
medieval Old Town from a viewing platform before descending to the lower town. The tour ends at the
Town Hall Square.

A six-hour bus tour to Lahemaa (70 km from Tallinn) presents you the beauty of the landscape typical to
Northern Estonia: coastal lowlands, pine forests, and boulder fields. In Lahemaa, there are several wellrestored manors of 18th-19th century, really great examples of their kinds in Estonia.
Palmse Manor: This baroque manor was built in 18th century and belonged to the family of barons von
Pahlen. The highlights include an antique music box that a staff member might play for you, the dining
room, a unique rococo stove, porcelain chandelier (1850), the baron’s own chair and original Turkish
couches in the saloon.
Sagadi Manor: This manor was built in the 18th century and was one of the few mansions in Estonia to
be decorated in rococo style. It has been preserved together with its extension and classic facade dating
back to 18th century. The rooms have been carefully restored and refurnished.
Please note that comfortable shoes are recommended.
The tour ends in front of the Sokos Hotel Viru at around 17 o'clock.

Guided bastion tours are arranged on:
06.07 at 15:30 and 16:30 (2 departures) from Sokos Hotel Viru in English.
07.07 at 10:00 and 11:00 (2 departures) from Sokos Hotel Viru in English.
The guided tour starts with 20 minutes walk through Tallinn City Center, while the client gets short
overview about our lovely Old Town and City Wall surrounding it. At Kiek in de Kök defence tower there
will be another guide waiting to take You underground.
The bastion tower Kiek in de Kök together with the passages of the bastions is an exciting part of Tallinn
historical fortifications. The tour to bastions take the visitor to a time journey that begins in 1219 and
offers experience, information and entertainment. With the help of innovative video- and sound-effects
and means of multimedia the birth and evolution of Tallinn, the history of town fortifications and the
most significant military events are introduced to the visitor. The time train in the bastion passages takes
the tourist to 2219. The other part of the display concentrates on the history of the passages.
Please note that tour ends to the Kiek in de Kök tower, no transfer back to hotel – You'll have a good
opportunity discovering the Old Town on Your own.
Please note that it is around 6-8 degrees of celsius underground, please take a jacket with You.

2.1.2. Art and Handicraft Tour in Tallinn Old Town
Guided Art and Handicraft Tour departs on 07.07 at 16:00 from Sokos Hotel Viru.

English speaking guide will meet You at the Sokos Hotel Viru lobby, bus will take You to the Estonian
Museum of Applied Art and Design where You will look at the exhibition and also participate in a small
workshop.
Tour continues to Estonian Handicraft shop that arranges exhibitions of traditional Estonian handicraft.
From there You'll walk to St. Catherine's Passage that's one of the most romantic places in Tallinn and a
home of the handicraft guild – St. Catherine's Guild – where visitors can look on as the creative process
unfolds. There are altogether 7 different workshops. The tour ends in Rotermann Quarter with painting
the marzipan and having a cup of coffee!
Rotermanni Quarter is opposite Sokos Hotel Viru.

The renovated stables of the 1870 residence of Baron Von Stackleberg offer great atmosphere right in the
city center. The Folk Group will give a 30-minutes show with folk dancing, playing instruments,
introducing Estonian traditions and games, teaching a few steps also to the guests.
The 3-course feast dinner gives you a good overview of Estonian cuisine.
