Annual sports day 2015-16
Annual sports day is an impartment event of the academic calendar of the every educational
Institution. A sport is a medium which brings the people from all walks of life together. It adds many
good qualities to our personality, like team play, leadership etc.
The Annual Sports day 2016 of Our College had a wonder full beginning on 15th of February
2016 at 1:30 pm, which was inaugurated by Major Muddegowda, Member of the governing council,
the oxford educational institutions. The Sports day started with a inaugural cricket match between
Faculties and Aluminates.
From there on various events of sports events were conducted by the department
1. Kabaddi for both men and women
2. Volleyball for both men and women
3. Cricket for men
4. Tug of war for both men and women
5. 100m running both men and women
6. 4x100m relay both men and women
7. Shot put both men and women
8. Throw ball for women
9. Tennikoit for women
10. Football
11. Table tennis
12. Chess
All these events were conducted in the afternoon. The events were conducted between students who
were divided into 5 houses as follows
1. Charaka all 1st year BSc and BCA
2. Aryabhatta all 2nd year BSc and BCA
3. Kanada all 3rd year BSc and BCA
4. Sushrutha all 1st year MSc and MCA
5. Baskara all 2nd year MSc,MCA and 3rd year MCA
Each event had overwhelming response from students with number of participants in
both men and women category. For example in kabaddi men and women team we expected 4
teams, but more than 12 teams participated in that event. Totally more than 600 students were
participated in above mention events.
Final sports day celebrated on 29 February 2016 with brining the Olympic torch by our
college national and international sports achievers,

