DanceBeats – Show Information 2015
Important Show Dates – please put them in your diary!
Monday 20th July to Thursday 23rd July = Final week of classes. Please be aware all classes will be moved around to fit
onto these days so please keep them free.
Sunday 30th August = Refresh rehearsal – all students in show to attend
Monday 31st August = Normal classes resume
Sunday 6th September = Dress rehearsal TBC – everyone is expected to attend
Thursday 10th September = Technical rehearsal in show venue (Guildhall theatre) – everyone is expected to attend
Friday 11th September = Evening show
Saturday 12th September = Matinee and Evening show
If you know you can’t attend any of the dates above please email us as it’s important that we know in advance.
Show Commitment Fees and Permission Slip
If your child would like to be involved with our show in September we are asking for a £10 commitment fee. If you
decided to drop out of the show at a later date then this is not refundable and you must pay for any costumes
already purchased on your behalf. Without this being paid by Saturday 23rd May 2015 we will assume you would not
like to be involved in the show and the student will not be blocked into routines. This commitment fee will mean you
do not have to pay any money for the full technical rehearsal in the venue the night before the show and like last
year we will be having a specially designed t-shirt for all students to wear in the finale, which is included in the
commitment fee. If for whatever reason your child doesn’t want to take part in this year’s show then they are still of
course welcome to attend classes as usual and learn the dances. Sometimes we use dances at events or for exams.
Students normally do one or two dances per class they take and costumes normally cost around £15-£20 per dance
but we do our best to make them as cheap as possible without losing quality too. Please expect to pay all costume
money before the summer holidays, a full costume list with order forms will be given out soon to give you enough
time to pay the money for costumes.
It’s important we know numbers of students so we can estimate how many people will be on stage at a time during
big routines and to help determine how many chaperones need to be licensed for the show. It will also help us to
sort out dressing rooms so everyone has enough space back stage. Please note all children will be chaperoned by
parents in small groups of 3-6 children depending on age, there is not space to have one chaperone per child.
Please return your commitment fee with the show permission slip and the council notification form in an envelope
marked with your child’s name and centre on the front of the envelope by Saturday 23rd May 2015. DO NOT SEND
THE COUNCIL FORM TO THE COUNCIL, WE HAVE TO SEND THEM ALL IN ONE BATCH.

I give permission for my child(ren) to take part in DanceBeats show on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th September 2015
at the Guildhall Theatre, Derby. I understand my child will be required for a dress rehearsal the weekend before the
show and MUST be at the dress rehearsal the weekend before the show and technical rehearsal at the Guildhall on
Thursday 10th September 2015. I understand that the performance will be photographed or videoed by an
appointed CRB checked professional and this may used in future advertising by DanceBeats and I give my
permission for this also. Where performance images are used, names of students will not be shown. As far as I am
aware my child is physically fit enough to participate in exercise and all details that I have provided are true and
accurate.
