Suspension strut hole punch with servo-electric drive Suspension strut hole punch Current solution Hole punch as a C-frame system driven by a hydraulic cylinder Hydraulic aggregate operating up to two clamps 2 NEW: suspension strut hole punch with servo-electric drive The hydraulic cylinder is replaced by a power unit controlled via a servo-electric motor The new e-cylinder is compatible with the current C-frame system with hydraulic cylinder and easy to change Through the e-motor, the entire hydraulic supply including aggregate, supply lines and control can be dispensed with Advantages: - cost savings - no risk of oil leakage - less plant components = less potential for failure / breakdown - easier maintenance - better control of the punching process, integrated process monitoring 3 Comparison Hydraulic and electric cylinder Comparison of widths Comparison of lengths Conclusion: - identical flanging - double in height Hydraulic cylinder Electric cylinder 4 Design principle of suspension strut hole punch with servo-electric drive Drive element C-frame with spring adjustment, unchanged Hole punch Guidance, unchanged Die Slugs 5 Detail of the drive unit Performance data: Single-stage reduction gear unit Force Fmax= 150 kN Reduction gear unit Module m = 5 Transmission i = 0.62 Electric motor (here: SEW) n = 2000 R/min Robust roll spindle 48 x 5 for transmission of the high process forces and shocks, caused by the cutting stroke Servo-electric drive 6 Process monitoring as a “by-product“ of servo control Basis: Required hardware: Control card and control panel. A software programme is used which establishes a connection to the converter and controls it. The power consumption of the motor is monitored during the punching process and it is saved every 1/10 mm. Envelope: An envelope is defined in advance with the aid of the sofware, determining the relevant maximum and minimum process values for an OK part. The actual current values are compared with the predefined envelope parameters during the punching process, and the punching process is evaluated on this basis. Process feedback or process interruption as soon as the signal is outside of the envelope, e.g. in the event of tool breakage, heavy wear on tools, incomplete punching of componenent and wrong component. Force = Power input Envelopes 1. Process signal faulty, e.g. wrong pairing of sheet metal 2. Process signal OK 3. Process force faulty, e.g. tool breakage Path (signal from servo drive) 7 Detail: Process Monitoring 1 Monitoring of the force/path signal = current draw / motor speed signal Example: faulty process Envelope upper limit Signal path outside the envelope! Process signal Envelope lower limit 8 Detail: Process Monitoring 2 Monitoring of the force/path signal = current draw / motor speed signal Example: punching process OK Envelope upper limit Punching process within the envelope! Process signal Envelope lower limit 9 Servo-electric power cylinder Further applications Hole punching suspension strut dome - Central hole e. g. Ø 34.2 mm - 3 x mounting holes Ø 11.2 mm Punching - Antenna hole, reversing camera, suspension strut dome, front panel hole punching Stamping - Serial numbers, shift stamps, part number, date Clinching - Joining metal parts by clinching fixed die movable die 10 Please contact us should you have any queries.
