2012 CMU Football Signing Day Dave Jahnke Assistant Sports Information Director FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: February 1, 2012 Colorado Mesa Head Football Coach Russ Martin and the Colorado Mesa University coaching staff would like to announce the signing of 27 student-athletes for the 2012 College Football season. Coach Martin also said they will add a few more players in the coming months as they head into spring football. “We are extremely excited about this class and how they can impact the future of this program.” Martin stated. This recruiting class features 12 players on the defensive side of the ball and 12 on the offensive side of the ball, headlined by the state’s leading rusher and local standout Jerreon Dennis. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to have Jerreon coming to Colorado Mesa. He has the ability to make an impact for us right away and really has a bright future ahead of him” Martin said. Dennis led the state in rushing this past year with 2,351 yards and was named to the All-Colorado Team. The class also included 3 junior college players. Will Harvey and Ian Driskill have already enrolled at CMU and are taking classes now. Turmour Battle is the other and will enroll in the summer with the rest of the class.
