(4 WEEK, 6 WEEK, AND 12 WEEK ARE ONLY OFFERED IN SUMMERS) How to add a course through the portal: Sign in with your SE Key at http://portal.semo.edu between 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Choose “Students SS” Tab Find the Area called “Registration Tools” Choose “Add or Drop Classes” Select appropriate semester and select “submit” Enter Alternate PIN – (changes each semester; you must be advised to obtain the alternate pin number for spring and fall semesters) Once in the enrollment/registration screen, Enter course registration numbers (CRNs) and select “submit changes” OR Select “class search” then “Advanced Class Search”- For class search, you must select a prefix in the “subject” box and type in the number in the course number box OR for University Studies courses, select all of the prefixes by clicking on the first prefix and dragging your mouse through the last prefix and then select an University Studies category under “attribute type”. SELECT MAIN CAMPUS TO SEE COURSES TAUGHT IN CAPE. Select “Register” to add a course to your schedule through class search Print a copy of your schedule for your records (VERIFY ROOM LOCATIONS*) Log out *NOTE: The following room locations do not meet in Cape Girardeau, as they meet at the off campus centers: SEK (Kennett), SEM (Malden), SES (Sikeston), and PAHEC (Perryville). CAC, RCS, and RCT meet at the River Campus in Cape Girardeau. Please allow up to 30 minutes for the shuttle ride from the main campus to the River Campus due to stops within the community. How to drop a course through the portal: Sign in with your SE Key at http://portal.semo.edu between 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Choose “Students SS” Tab Find the Area called “Registration Tools” Choose “Add or Drop Classes” Select appropriate semester and select “submit” Enter Alternate PIN – (check comments section of DegreeWorks or contact advisor) Once in the enrollment/registration screen, you will see your current classes listed. There is a drop down box to the left of each course. You can select “web drop” and then “submit changes” to drop the course. Be sure to go back into My Courses to view your schedule to verify the course is no longer listed on your schedule. Log out Dropping below 12 hours (minimum to be full time student) can have negative impact on financial aid, living on campus, and insurance. Be sure to check the “Date” column to see if the course is 4 week, 6 week, 8 week, 12 week, or 16 week. Cap = course capacity (number of seats available) Act = actively enrolled (how many students are enrolled in the class thus far) Rem = remaining seats at this time; when remaining seats are zero, a “C” will appear in the far left column to indicate the class is “closed”. Days/Times/Instructor/Room Location are also listed Students may register for a maximum of 9 credit hours in the summer as long as not in violation of hours per session. 4 hours is maximum enrollment in any one specific 4 week session 6 hours is maximum enrollment in any one 6 week session 9 hours is maximum enrollment in the 8 week session However, students who enroll in more than 3 credit hours in any 2 week time frame may be asked to drop a course to not be enrolled in more than 3 hours in any 2 week time frame due to the intense work load.
