e Full Return to Rodeo Start with full-­‐go supervised practice. Progressive Cognitive Activities • 10-­‐15 min reading/homework blocks with 30 min breaks in between. Start with 2-­‐3 blocks per day and progress as child can without return of signs and symptoms • 1/2 day school until they increase stamina or provide rest periods at school skipping high brain activity classes such as testing periods, progress as child can without return of signs & symptoms • 10-­‐15 min computer/TV/video (screen time) game activity blocks with 30 min breaks in-­‐between. Start after child is asymptomatic with 2-­‐3 blocks per day. Progress as child can without return of signs & symptoms. • If at any time signs & symptoms return, decrease cognitive activity. Progressive Physical Activities Should be done with adult supervision. If at any time signs & symptoms return, decrease physical activity. • Light activity includes o Brisk walking o Short play time o Light play with friends **Avoid activities where they can fall off or hit head • Increase play time, jogging, light rodeo activity includes: o Light horseback riding-­‐walking only o Standing dummy roping o Stationary dummy goat tying **Continue to avoid activities that include a risk of fall or hitting head • Sport Specific activity would include: o Light chores o Loping circles on a well broke saddle horse o Roping/tying a dummy • Supervised practice would include: o Roping while horseback o Riding a bucking barrel or Mighty Bucky o Riding a broke saddle horse bareback o Flanking calves or tying goats
