- Manifattura di Legnano: 12:00 noon, press conference to present Il cotone Bio-Etico, la tintura naturale del
cotone organico [bio-ethical cotton; naturally dyed organic cotton]. Manifattura di Legnano and Tintoria Di Quaregna
will explain how organic cotton is produced with eco-sustainable processes using cotton seeds that have not been
genetically modified, natural fertilizers and defoliants obtained from plants that do not contain chemical additives,
infusion dyeing using fruit and herb extracts and fixing the colors with Marseille soap. The speakers include Anna Mello
Relia, proprietor of the Tintoria di Quaregna and Stefano Casaleggi, General Manager of the Manifattura di Legnano. At

- Lanecardate: an installation and a cocktail party to celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary. At 3:30, Daimon, by
young artist Luisa Mazza will be shown to the press. This piece met with great success when it was shown at the
Palazzo Ducale in Genoa during the eponymous exhibition dedicated to the daimon, that is the inner voice, the higher

and the archives of the Italian designer – his sketches, drawings, notebooks, audiovisuals and photographs are part of

- Do-Knit-Yourself: from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Stazione Leopolda, the cocktail on the occasion of the first national
KNIT-OUT.
- Filpucci: 8:00 p.m., for the company’s fortieth anniversary, presentation of the book “40 anni…filati”, edited by Silvia
Martinenghi, graphic design by Lifesaver. At Palazzo Pitti, Florence.
THURSDAY 5JULY
- Polimoda: 11:30 a.m., Linda Loppa creative director of Polimoda will hold a press conference and present DO-DI-CI,
the exhibition in the city center with twelve students from the Master in Advanced Fashion Design program presenting
their collections to the international fashion audience for the very first time. The project, based on a concept by Ms.
Loppa, involves the artisan workshops along Via Romana to Piazza San Felice and aims at creating a bond between the
school’s multicultural creativity and the city of Florence. At the Restaurant il Barone di Porta Romana, Via Romana 123,

THE EVENTS AROUND TOWN:
_ VINTAGE SELECTION N.10 AT THE STAZIONE LEOPOLDA
From 4 to 8 July, 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily, the Stazione Leopolda in Florence will host the tenth edition of
Vintage Selection, the fair featuring strictly vintage clothing, accessories and design objects. Italian and foreign
operators, internationally acclaimed for the quality of their work, will present clothing and accessories abounding in
contents and ideas for the members of the trade, and Remake, the section showcasing collections dedicated to custom
made collections, will be back for another success.
_ LAGABBIA AT VINTAGE SELECTION:
Lagabbia is the brand name of a series of leisure fashion and design items. It is the fruit of a joint program between the
Assessorato alla Moda [Commission for Fashion] of the Province of Florence and the teaching workshops of the Casa
Circondariale di Sollicciano, Florence.
Lagabbia will be special guest at Vintage Selection during Pitti Filati with the Lagabbia Rent project – renting and selling
Ruotalibera bicycles. Lagabbia Rent will be operating adjacent to the fair and other events in the city.
