Discussion Summary:
1) The CEC awarded a grant for Demand Response Analysis and Control (DRAC). The DRAC use case
development goals and schedule match closely with the DR use case team’s goals and schedule.
The efforts will therefore work jointly on the initial use case normalization process.
2) The use of other use cases was discussed. AEP has use cases and they will provide them. The
AEP cases may be relatively light in new Demand Response relevant material.
3) Source use cases SCE C1 and SCE D1 were discussed, including architecture diagrams and
sequence diagrams provided by Stuart McCafferty.
4) During the working session, DERC/DRACS interface diagrams and preliminary list of both
programs’ high level functions were developed and discussed. See attachment 1 for an example
of one of several diagrams which were drawn and evaluated.
5) The use of the standard IEC 61968 nomenclatures (verbs, business functions, business subfunctions, etc.) was agreed to by the team.
6) Greg Robinson, AMI-ENT Task Force (TF) Chair provided insight into the organization and
content of the IEC 61968 standard. Key portions of the IEC standard are located in this folder on
the UCA OpenSG users group site:

7) Standard template discussed briefly. No comments received on its content or format.
8) The scope of the Demand Response use case effort was reviewed and agreed to be as shown in
Attachment 2.
9) Next in-person team meeting will be in San Diego the week of December 1.
