What is a Public Facilities District and
where do their dollars come from?
• The Public Facilities District (PFD) is an
independent corporation managing
Washington state sales tax rebate funds
allocated to Lewis County.
Where is the PFD’s money being spent?
• The PFD dollars will be spent specifically
on the Event Center and Parking and
“extra” money will be spent on the
Sports Complex.

• The LLC will market the Event Center
and Sports Complex recruiting sporting

• The City is considering bonding a portion of its
Hotel/Motel (Stadium) Funds.

• Approximately $1.25 million for the
construction of tennis courts, multi-use fields,
football/soccer field, and trails but the Council
has not determined the final amount.
• The City will be also use the value of land as a
match for the project.

Benefits of the Project
• This regional project will channel economic
development benefits for the all of Lewis
County.
• With the development of the Lewis County
Event Center and Sports Complex new events
or activities will be created enticing people to
visit Lewis County. This influx of people will
then provide additional income for restaurants,
retail establishments and overnight facilities
within all of the County not just Centralia.
• The cities of Medford and Lacey among others
have built similar facilities in the recent past
and have seen a positive return on their
investment.

The Event Center is a multi-use regional
facility. One of the “goals” of the Public
Facilities District is to create a regional
facility.
The Event Center isn’t just for sports but it
is a multi-use facility. Sporting events are
just one aspect of the Center other events
could include: concerts, United Way
events, Festival of Trees, Rotary
Conventions, FFA competitions, College
Foundation Auction, art shows, and other
meetings and conferences.
