Ticket to Unit 1A Exam (Nervous System)
Directions:
Produce a booklet or poster detailing the major concepts of this part of Unit 1. This will serve as a
“ticket” to be able to write the unit exam, and more importantly, as a study tool for your diploma exam
at the end of the semester.
note:
 all diagrams should include a list of terms and blanks where they apply.
 Blanks should NOT be completed until reviewing for diploma exam in June.
Requirements:
Your product must include the following components:
1. A flowchart overview of nervous system
2. a diagram of a typical neuron
3. a graph of time vs electrochemical potential representing the changes occurring during an
action potential
4. An example of a disorder related to neuron-to-neuron transmission. Include a labelled diagram
of a synapse explaining the disorder
OR
A labelled diagram of a synapse indicating the actions of an inhibitory neurotransmitter
chemical
5. a diagram of the brain, indicating regions studied and functions
6. a diagram of the eye, indicating the basic pathway of light stimulus
7. a diagram of an ear, indicating the basic pathway of sound stimulus
Marking:
This assignment is designed as a study tool for you. As such, you have the choice of doing as much or as
little as you wish. As long as all requirements are met, you will receive credit.
