Star Moments
We would love to hear from you about your child’s new
learning, things you have observed your child doing for the
first time at home.
You may want to share special events they have experienced
eg visiting a museum, attending a family wedding etc. and
tell us how they felt about this.
Please make sure you talk to your child about what you are
writing on the star so that they are able to share it with the
Reading Scrapbook
It’s been lovely to see all the creative entries in the Reading
Scrapbooks. The children have enjoyed sharing these with their peers.
Please ensure the scrapbooks are only used to record reading
experiences and it is important that adults model and set high
expectations.
Please make sure your child’s Reading Scrapbook is in their bookbag
everyday, especially on the days we change reading books (Mon,
Weds, Fri)

TLDP - Feedback
Drive; Research has shown that quality feedback is the single most powerful
influence on achievement (Hattie 2012)
Discover; Effective feedback enables children to know where they are, where
they need to be and how to get there
Through our reading we have discovered that in order for feedback to be
effective we need a classroom environment which supports effective feedback
Deepen; In order to achieve this we are developing their speaking and
listening skills, developing their play skills through modelling and scaffolding,
giving children hints and cues to refocus their play and explicitly talking about
their learning.
Alongside this we are developing the children’s self awareness and empathy
towards others through our class circle times.
