RIPCOR INVITATIONAL
CYCLE TIME TRIAL
SUNDAY 27TH APRIL
It’s all good!
THE RIPCOR TT IS BACK!
The second Ripcor Invitational Cycle Time Trial will take place on the
morning of Sunday 27th April. The 10 mile ‘race of truth’ is run on
and around the Drift Road near Windsor on the Cycling Time Trials
registered route H10/10.
Last year in September we had 22 riders and we hope to increase that
number to over 30 this time around. We run the event partly to introduce
new riders to our club and to time trialling, but mainly to raise funds for
our chosen charity The PACE Centre in Aylesbury which looks after young
children with Cerebral Palsy www.thepacecentre.org
You do not need to be either an experienced cyclist nor a time trail specialist
to take part, this event is designed for all standards. In fact, at last year’s
event over 90% of the field were time trial novices. However, there will be a
a couple of entrants that will no doubt be vying for the top honours.
We have an arrangement with a local pub, The New Leathern Bottle at
Jealotts Hill (www.newleathernbottle.co.uk) to let us park there and
they will also provide teas and coffees at the briefing and bacon and sausage
sarnies at the end of the race. The entry fee for riders is £15 (£10 to Ripcor
club members) which includes refreshments and the sarnies, but we also
need to know if you are bringing any friends or family who will also want to
have something to eat at the end. We’ll need to charge £5 for this. Please pay
with cash on the day. All proceeds after the event costs will be donated to
The PACE Centre.
Race brief will take place at the Leathern Bottle at 9am and then it’s a nice
gentle 15 minute ride to the start from there. Everyone will go off at minute
intervals and the course will be sign-posted and marshalled (if anyone
would like to offer their help on the day then please let me know).
