This shows that the 2.7 global, closely followed by the 2.5 research, are the most
popular internal assessments which continues the pattern at Level 1. The GIS remains
the least popular and done by only a handful of schools.

The 2.8 has such small numbers it is not appropriate to include this. Of the others
the standard with the highest achievement rate is the 2.6. The standard with the
highest excellence rate is the 2.7. In comparing the old and new standards the
research seems a little easier to gain achievement and excellence in while the 2.6 is
a little trickier to gain achievement in. There is little difference in the global 2.7.
SURVEY RESULTS
This is based on approximately 60 schools in the Upper North Island that
sent in a return to the survey. This is sufficient to give us a good overall
pattern.

This shows that while most schools are doing 4 of the internal standards, this is
closely matched by those only doing 3. This is likely to reflect if schools are covering 2
or 3 externals.
