The House of God is designed
and furnished in opulence.
Richness of Grace in
The Divine Design
Ephesians 1:7-10
“In whom we have redemption
through his blood, the
forgiveness of sins, according to
the riches of his grace”
Ephesians 1:7
The riches of the grace of God
is a now and never
ending possession.
“…we are having…”
“In whom we have redemption
through his blood, the
forgiveness of sins, according to
the riches of his grace”
Ephesians 1:7
redemption – loosed away from.
The payment to secure release.
A release by ransom.
“In whom we have redemption
through his blood, the
forgiveness of sins, according to
the riches of his grace”
Ephesians 1:7
forgiveness – to send away
from, to release as from
bondage or imprisonment.
To forgive, to pardon.
“In whom we have redemption
through his blood, the
forgiveness of sins, according to
the riches of his grace”
Ephesians 1:7
Sins – trespasses, to step
beyond a boundary.
To cross the line.
The blood of Jesus
releases from all sins.
This is the now and never
ending possession
found only in Him.
“Wherein he hath abounded
toward us in all wisdom and
prudence”
Ephesians 1:8
The riches of the grace of God
goes above and beyond with
an excess of provision.
Abounded – exceeded,
more than enough.
“Wherein he hath abounded
toward us in all wisdom and
prudence”
Ephesians 1:8
wisdom – intelligence,
knowledge, insight into the
true nature of something.
prudence – practical application
of and proper use of wisdom.
“Having made known unto us the
mystery of his will, according to
his good pleasure which he hath
purposed in himself”
Ephesians 1:9
unto us – the apostles and
prophets. The foundation.
Ephesians 2:20
“Having made known unto us the
mystery of his will, according to
his good pleasure which he hath
purposed in himself”
Ephesians 1:9
mystery – a truth once
concealed, now revealed.
The will of God is concealed
until He reveals it.
“Having made known unto us the
mystery of his will, according to
his good pleasure which he hath
purposed in himself”
Ephesians 1:9
The riches of the grace of God
includes a plan to bring
about heaven on earth.
God’s purpose is for
His own interest.
“That in the dispensation of the
fulness of times he might gather
together in one all things in Christ,
both which are in heaven, and
which are on earth; even in him”
Ephesians 1:10
dispensation – house-law
The administration or
management of a house.
“…the fullness of times…”
“That in the dispensation of the
fulness of times he might gather
together in one all things in Christ,
both which are in heaven, and
which are on earth; even in him”
Ephesians 1:10
gather together in one – to bring
to a head, to bring together
under one head or heading.
To bring all things under the
headship of the Messiah.
“That in the dispensation of the
fulness of times he might gather
together in one all things in Christ,
both which are in heaven, and
which are on earth; even in him”
Ephesians 1:10
heavens – the abode of God
upon – emphasizes contact
in Him – in Jesus as Head over
His body, His building, His bride.
The church where Jesus is
Head, where God makes His
habitation through the Spirit is
the only place where Heaven
makes contact with earth.
This richness of grace
must be appropriated
Richness of grace for
redemption and for
heaven on earth.
