Experiential
Learning
Construct-a-Bike
Experiential Learning is most simply described as learning by doing.
These hands-on activities give participants an opportunity to share a
unique experience and learn in a more interactive way. Professional
facilitators lead discussions after each activity to identify factors that
contributed to the team’s success and to discuss areas for improvement.
During these discussions, participants share ideas and identify parallels
to their work environment.
IN
The goal of this competition is to accumulate as many team points as possible
in a 60-minute time period, while also constructing a bike. There are three
ways to earn points: bike construction quality and speed, challenge stations
and brain teasers.
This workshop has a philanthropic side, which will touch the hearts of the
participants. All bikes built during this workshop are donated to local charities,
having a lasting impact on the children who receive them. Post-activity discussions focus on creative problem solving, resource
management and the impact of individual tasks on team success.

Moviemaking
Challenge
IN
Teams are given the challenge of creating their own TV commercial. It could
be for a product that doesn’t exist yet, a service your organization could
provide or any other concept. The goal is to enhance interaction and get
creative juices flowing. After spending a few minutes brainstorming their
concept, each team works with a Q Creative producer and videographer to
record the footage that will become their masterpiece.
Q Creative’s professional editors then create the final version of each video.
The real fun begins as the videos premiere at a screening and Academy
Awards event where everyone gets to see all the videos and vote for their
favorites.
Time required varies based on the number of teams
involved – typically two hours for the brainstorming
and recording process, plus the evening Academy
Awards event.
