Star Wars Aquatic Organisms

Part 1: Study existing aquatic organisms
Aquatic organisms have a lot to teach us. They are specially adapted so that they can survive in their unique aquatic
environment. Tasks such as finding food, moving around, breathing, and reproducing are all quite different in the
water than they are on land. In part 1 of this assignment, you will choose two aquatic organisms to study
(plant/animal). You will research how your particular organism finds and eats its food; how it gets around in its
environment; how it conducts gas exchange; and how it reproduces. You need to include sources of information for
your research (NO WIKIPEDIA), and ensure that you use your own words in your assignment.

Part 2: Create your own aquatic alien!
You will use your understanding of aquatic organisms and your imagination to
create an entirely new aquatic organism based on some of the information you
have found out in Part 1. This creature should be able to survive in the oceans of
Naboo. To describe your creation, include:
- a drawing (this can be computer-generated)
- a description of:
o 1. what your organism eats and how it eats
o 2. how it moves around
o 3. how it exchanges gases
o 4. how it reproduces
o 5. a characteristic that helps your organism to survive in it’s environment
Descriptions need to be practical based off of the information you have found in your research. The
following rubric will be used in part to assess your work and ensure that your creature, although made up,
has practical aspects to its description.
