Warm Up Activity 1 Coerver Exercise Warm Up Activity 2 Passing/Receiving Exercise Activity 1 Area: 30 x 10 with two halves of 10 x 15. Two teams of 6 players. Red players are in their half trying to keep possession. White sends in two players to defend. If they can win the ball they try to pass it to their teammates in their half. If they knock the ball out of bounds, then the coach plays a ball into the white half. White tries to keep possession and two red players defend. Coaching points: quick transition from offense to defense and vice versa. Activity 2 Area: width of the penalty box x 45. Goal + keeper. The attacking teams dribbles towards the big goal. The defending team stays behind the ‘confrontation’ line. If they win the ball they try to score on one of the two small goals. If the defending team gets scored on they stay. Otherwise the attacking team becomes the defending team. Coaching points: Stay compact defensively. Be patient. When you win the ball transition with speed. Activity 3 Area: Half field. Goals + keepers. Create a mid-line. The team that is not in possession must have every player in their own half. Coaching points: Drop back as a team. Keep spaces tight. When you win the ball look for the spaces to attack. Make right decisions. Forward if possible, keep the ball if necessary. Activity 4 Activity 5 – Cool down Free game
