The Opportunity
The quality of university level open
educational content has been increasing
rapidly
Educational modalities available:
– Recorded lectures (videos, screencasts,
audio podcasts, etc.)
– Interactive tutorials and quizzes
– Full Free Online Textbooks
The Challenge
The quality is variable on the open web
Top down efforts (e.g. MIT
Opencourseware) are incomplete
Students will supplement their information
sources spontaneously – how can we
guide them?
