New Web App Makes Contact Transcription Fast and Cheap for Businesses
CardWiX lets businesses upload business cards, sign-up sheets, and other contact data for easy
transcription and organization
New York, NY, June 8, 2011—It’s a problem faced by businesses all across the world. Desks full of
business cards containing vital contact information that needs to be organized into a usable database,
but the task is so daunting that no one ever gets around to doing it. That’s what happened to Grace
Sales, founder of CardWiX. It was her “Eureka! Moment” and she went to work immediately to create a
simple solution for digitizing business cards and physical contact lists. The result is CardWiX, a new web
application that lets businesses mail or upload business cards and documents for fast, affordable digital
transcription.
Currently, CardWiX is in the beta stage, meaning it’s fully functional, but new features are being added
regularly to improve the application’s performance.
“Until now, businesses wasted hours of time and resources manually typing contact information from
business cards, sign-up sheets, rolodexes, electronic forms, and other sources just so they could have all
of their contacts neatly organized digitally,” explained CardWiX founder Grace Sales. “I knew there had
to be a better, more efficient way to do this, so I built the CardWiX software application from the ground
up.”
Sales, a lifelong problem solver, had no previous coding experience. She literally drew her concepts for
CardWiX on sheets of paper, and over the course of three months, took the application from the
concept stage to its current beta stage.
“I started the design by focusing on data security, minimizing risks and controlling the transfer of data
while maintaining privacy. I have a Master’s degree in law and information technology, so I understood
the legal implications and some of the IT basics,” said Sales. “We literally took my concepts that I
sketched out on sheets of paper, and turned them into a workable product. But I really trusted my
experience as a consumer, focusing my efforts on creating a safe, reliable product I would feel
comfortable using online.”
According to the website (www.cardwix.com), businesses simply mail or upload their business cards and
documents, the CardWiX application and “WiXers” (those are the human encoders that help ensure
100% transcription accuracy) then digitize the data in just 24-48 hours.
“There’s just no reason for a business to spend hours upon hours of time manually typing up their
contact data,” remarked Sales. “Our web application does all the hard work for the customer at a
shockingly low price.”
