Students must be 12 years and under old in the year of competition with a minimum age of 10
years of age in the year of competition and enrolled at an affiliated primary school

At the first trial a parent/caregiver must check in, sign the consent and pay a $5.00 trial fee.
Students are expected to attend each listed trial. Reminders will not be sent to attend trials.
Selection process
Selection will be made on the basis of form at the trials with regard to
 Ability to play within a team structure
 Must demonstrate a willingness to listen and learn
 Must demonstrate a strong work ethic
 Must demonstrate a high level of basic skills and specific positional knowledge
 Must demonstrate a solid fitness level
 Being a ‘good sport’ and demonstrate good behaviour on and off the court
The selection panel will comprise of the coach, manager and one other selector
Previous experience indicates that only those players who regularly compete in an Adelaide U/14
division 1 or 2 competition or have attended an U/12 Country State Camp have been successful at
this level. Only 10 players are chosen for each team to represent the state, so exceptional ability and
skills are required.
Compulsory commitments if selected
All selected team members will be required to attend
 All team trainings and a team photo shoot. All dates will be notified once they have been
confirmed
 All aspects of the Pacific School Games (PSG) including the opening and closing ceremonies,
excursion and all competition aspects
Endorsement
Please note that selection in a Sapsasa team requires endorsement from the student’s school
principal before coming final. Therefore parents are advised not to make any arrangements that
incur costs until the school has confirmed that the student fulfils all requirements
Championship costs
An individual itemised account will be provided for every student selected in a Sapsasa team.
Levies and training costs will be included on the invoice. Uniforms, accommodation, food and
personal spending money will be additional costs for families and will not appear on the invoice.
Please note that involvement in the PSG will be quite expensive with an anticipated cost of $1000
per participant. All uniforms are to be ordered online with a credit card payment direct to the
suppliers required to process the order.
Accommodation
SA students will not be housed in team accommodation during the Pacific School Games but will be
required to travel from home to the venue each day. Parents of country participants will need to
make their own accommodation and/or daily travel arrangements.
