Frequently asked questions: What would my role be? As a volunteer Life Coach you would support one or more young people in achieving their self-determined life goals. This would be done by weekly contact with your young person/s and attending monthly group sessions for 3 months. Would I get training and support? All Life Coaches receive a free training course to ‘set you up’ for the challenge. This would include not only training in how to work with young people but also the specific life coaching methodology used. The training will be different from most if not all others you have encountered. The nature of the training is very difficult to describe in words. The most important thing is a willingness to attend with an open mind to a new approach. Do I have to have worked with young people before? Having experience with young people would be advantage but by no means a necessity. Many previous Life Coaches have had no previous experience but have been very successful in working with young people. Willingness and a commitment to supporting young people are the most important things. All volunteers will undergo thorough screening including an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
