KAUNAS UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY DORMITORY SPORTS GAMES ”BARAKIADA 2017” REGULATIONS EVENT ORGANISERS KTU Sports Centre. KTU Dormitory Council. PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES OF THE COMPETITIONS Encourage students’ physical activity. Improve students’ health. Foster communication between students. TIME AND PLACE March 1– April 26, 2017. Closure April 27. Sports premises of KTU Sports Centre. PARTICIPANTS OF THE COMPETITIONS Only students living in KTU dormitories can participate in KTU Dormitory Games. Students may only represent their dormitory. One dormitory resident can participate in two sports events. Students who live in dormitories No. 2, 5, 7, and 8 can participate in more than two events. Chairman of the Dormitory Council provides the original application with signatures to the organisers of the competition until February 27. Public Barakiada competition draws will be held on February 27 at 4 p.m. at the Sports Centre, Room 157. Students participating in the sports games are responsible for their own heath. Competitions: basketball; football; volleyball; dodgeball; cricket; table tennis; orienteering; chess; rowing; laser tag; bench press; frisbee; darts; badminton. INVENTORY The organisers are responsible for sports equipment required for the competition. Participating team is responsible for a uniform sportswear. ENFORCEMENT At every event the team that wins the first place receives 10 points, 2nd place – 9 points, 3rd place – 8 points, 4th place – 7 points, 5th place – 6 points, 6th place – 5 points, 7th place – 4 points, 8th place – 3 points, 9th place – 2 points, 10th place – 1 point. The results are summed up in the joint table. The team with the most points wins the 1st place. If two teams have an equal score, a higher place is awarded to the team which won a bigger amount of higher places. Basketball: Team competition. Team of 8 players (men, women, mixed). Played by 5 x 5 players. Match duration – 4 quarters of 10 min. (without timeouts). Timeouts can be taken during the last 2 minutes of the 4th quarter. In case of an equal score at the end of the match, the game is extended for 5 min. Team can take of 1 min. break during the quarter and the overtime (time is stopped). Event schedules will be announced during the draw. Competition will be held at the basketball hall of the Faculty of Chemical Technology (Radvilėnų pl. 19). Head referee – Jonas Kurševičius (referees: Margarita Ruzgienė, Vytautas Pliauga) Football: Team competition. Team of 8 players (men, women, mixed). Played by 6 x 6 players. Match duration – 20 min. (one half, teams do not change sides). Competition is played in two phases as a single elimination tournament. Competition will take place at the artificial turf football pitch (Radvilėnų pl. 19). Head referee – Gintaras Grigonis (referee – Leonas Stonkus) Volleyball: Team competition. Team of 5 players (men, women, mixed), one of them is a reserve player. Played by 4 x 4 players. Match duration – 1 set up to 25 points; 25th is the last point. Competition is a double elimination tournament. Competition will take place at the sport hall of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture (Studentų g. 48). Head referee – Raminta Šišlienė (referee – Audronė Jakupkienė) Dodgeball: Team competition. Team of 8 players, two of them are reserve players (3 men and 3 women). Duration of one quarter – 10 min. Competition will take place at the sport hall of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture (Studentų g. 48). Head referee – Darius Talačka (referee – Irina Klizienė) Table tennis: Team competition. Team of 2 players (women and men). Played by 1 x 1 players, men against men, women against women. The game continues until two sets are won. Competition will be held in the tennis hall (Radvilėnų pl. 19). Head referee – representative of the dormitories. Orienteering: Team competition. Team of 2 players (men, women, mixed). Search of control points (CP) under specified procedure. Control time – 1 hour. The result is determined by the number of found CP and time of the route completion. The winner is the team that found all CP in the shortest time. Competition will be held in Kaunas Panemunė park. Head referee – Jūratė Bajorienė. Chess: Team competition. Team of 2 players (men, women, mixed). Competition will be held on the first floor of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Studentų g. 50) The tournament is carried out in accordance with the FIDE Laws. Time control 5+3 seconds (5 minutes for a game plus 3 seconds per each made move), 7 rounds. When the team wins, it gets 2 points, in case of a draw – 1 point, when it loses – 0 points. The winner team is determined by: A total number of points; ”Buchholz“ factor; ”Sonneborn-Berger“ factor; Head arbiter – Eugenijus Skietrys. Rowing machines „Concept 2“: Team competition. Team of 2 players (men, women, mixed). Distance – 1000 m. Teams that finish the distance in the same time, repeat the distance of 100 m. Competition will be held on the first floor of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Studentų g. 50) Head referee – Loreta Šapokienė. Bench press: Team competition. Team of 3 players (men, women, mixed). Weight category: up to 74 kg, up to 83 kg, 83 + kg, 1 kg overweight is allowed in each category. Barbell is pressed on a flat bench. The result is a sum of 3 presses. Competition will be held on the first floor of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Studentų g. 50) Head referee – Karolis Urbanavičius (referee – Kęstutis Raškevičius). Darts: Team competition. Team of 2 players (men, women, mixed). Played in "501" subgroups and playoffs to the finals: until 3 won legs; in the finals – until 3 won legs with a double out. Competition will be held on the first floor of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics (Studentų g. 50) Head referee – representative of the dormitories. Frisbee: Team competition. Team of 7 players, two of them are reserve players (men, women, mixed). Played by 5 x 5 players. Playing two quarters of 15 minutes without timeouts. The winner is the team that earns more points than their opponents. In case of an equal score, the game is continued until the first point is earned. Match is played as a single elimination tournament. The venue will be announced during the Games (depending on weather conditions). Head referee – Gediminas Kavaliauskas (referee – Ieva Kaunelytė). Badminton: Team competition. Team of 2 players (men and women). Played by 1 x 1 players, men against men, women against women. The game continues until two sets are won. Competition will take place at the sport hall of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture (Studentų g. 48). Head referee – Rasa Šulnienė. Cricket: Team competition. Team of 7 players, two of them are reserve players (men, women, mixed). Match is played as a single elimination tournament. Team can only have one captain. The rest of the simplified rules will be presented to the teams before the competition. Head referee – representative of the dormitories. Laser tag: Team of 6 players. 3 groups of 4 teams. Precise rules will be presented in March. Head referee – representative of ”KA ringas”. Chairman of the Dormitory Council is responsible for correctness of the data provided in the application form and its compliance with the competition regulations. In case of fraud the dormitory will be eliminated from the sports games. It is possible to replace the participants of individual competitions due to justified reasons under a prior agreement with the Organising Committee. The teams must arrive to the competitions on scheduled time, which will be announced one week in advance (delayed teams will be automatically announced as losers). The organisers reserve the right to change the referees, time, place and conduction system of the competitions of individual sports.
