From the 16th until the 20th of November, the KIC InnoEnergy Energy for Smart Cities master programme has planned a Smart Cities Week for its students, during the Smart Cities World Congress in Barcelona. To offer these highly trained young engineers with a real innovation activity, we want to challenge them with… your challenges! That’s right; this international team of students will work on your challenges for a whole week. At the end of the week, on 20 November, during an Innovation Competition, the results of the innovation process will then be presented by each student team. The quality and novelty of the innovations developed will be evaluated by yourself and a jury in which start‐ups and companies take part. We are looking for both technical challenges and business creation challenges. Our students are engineers from different energy specialties and origins world‐wide, and have a special focus on innovation and entrepreneurship. During the week, they will be coached by innovation specialists from KIC InnoEnergy. If you are interested in this opportunity, please tell us and indicate one or more challenges of your interest. We are at your disposal to help you to formulate your challenges and to ensure the best outcome of this innovative journey. You will be informed of whether your proposed challenges were selected, by 30 September. The selected ones will be studied and prepared to be solved in an innovative way by the students. For all applicant start‐ups and companies, with selected challenges or not, there is room for you to get involved in activities that might be of your interest within this innovation programme.
