The UQ Business School Sentinel Property Group Scholarship was established in 2016. In making a gift to the
University, Sentinel Property Group wishes to honour their commitment to provide opportunities for students
studying a Bachelor of Business Management majoring in Real Estate and Development. The Value of the
Scholarship is $10,000 per year (pro rata for students with less than a year to complete before graduation).
Scholarship Criteria
1. Eligibility for award
An applicant is eligible for the scholarship if the applicant:
a. Is a domestic student, enrolled full time in an approved undergraduate degree program
administered by the UQ Business School;
b. Has achieved a minimum GPA of 5.5 on a 7.0 scale;
c. Is in their final year of study based on completed units;
d. Seeks to pursue a career in the property profession;
e. Is able to provide supporting documentation which demonstrates their commitment to the
property sector in their studies and extracurricular activities;
f. Submits their CV;
g. Submits an application to the Dean of the UQ Business School by the closing date for
applications; and
h. Does not hold another scholarship that the Dean considers to be similar.
2. Selection Process
a. A list of finalists will be reviewed by the Dean of the UQ Business School or nominee, an
Academic Administrative Manager of the UQ Business School, appointed by the Dean, or their
nominee; and a representative/s of the Sentinel Property Group or nominee, with university staff
comprising the majority.
b. The committee may decide to interview short-listed candidates.
c. In making its recommendation the selection committee will take into account i.
academic achievements in previous studies;
ii.
demonstrated commitment to the property sector;
iii.
personal qualities, including leadership potential;
iv.
participation in additional benefits; and
v.
any other evidence which may be deemed relevant.
