Who is a judge
 A person with law as his background and has qualified
the examination for judiciary.
 Is it?
 What else?
 (Who am I?)
Personality of a Judge
 Beliefs and Superstitions
 Attitudes eg attitudes towards life, marriage, regions,
etc. (A cognitive structure towards life world, towards
things frompast experiences and learning)
 Beliefs are not verifiable eg belief in God, soul, life
after death. Beliefs are strong and not verifiable.
 Attitudes are verifiable
 From attitudes we develop stereotypes
 Beliefs, attitudes and values predispose an individual
to act in a particular way.
 So are your judgements based on perceptions which
are already governed by beliefs, values etc. Only then
your interpretation of law begins to operate .
