Transitional Day Shelter has been serving homeless individuals and families since December 31, 2003 and is located in Kenosha, Wisconsin. It is the only daytime shelter in Kenosha that is open seven days a week and it provides clients with the basic necessities of food, clothing, shelter, support services and referrals to other community agencies and programs. The mission of First Step Services is to assist individuals who are currently homeless and help them transition into permanent housing and gainful employment. The homeless population in Kenosha is growing at a rapid rate and the need for a day shelter is critical for serving homeless families and individuals. It is our goal to provide a place for homeless individuals and families to go during the day, to receive support services and also be a part of a caring and respectful community. Our program components are designed to motivate individuals to look for housing and stable employment.
