Press release Asmaa Petro Team Wins FLL Egypt Championship Date published: 26 April 2017 Asmaa Petro Team— from the Suez Advanced Technical School— won FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Egypt's Championship, organized by the Technology Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (TIEC), on April 14, 21 and 22, at TIEC premises, in Smart Village, under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and the Ministry of Education. The Team will qualify to represent Egypt in the final competition that will be held in the United States of America, where teams from several countries compete for valuable prizes and scholarships offered by the largest international scientific institutions. 120 teams from public, private and international schools participated in FLL Egypt’s Championship. TIEC supported the participation of 29 public schools geographically distributed over 17 governorates across the country. TIEC paid registration fees of schools in the competition, provided playground for training and offered robot kits for the completion of tasks and training. TIEC also organized a training camp for teachers and specialists, covering concepts and basics of innovation, fundamentals and techniques of robots, requirements and stages of Egypt's Championship. FLL is an international competition for school students aged 9-16 years old, organized by the First Lego League of the United States of America for innovation and excellence in science, technology and engineering.
