Spiritual Growth Team: Bible Study and Prayer Group At CityLink Center, Volunteers aren't just a "nice to have" - They are core to our mission. We intentionally have a small staff and are FUELED by an army of volunteers because we believe that there is an ABUNDANCE of talent waiting to tackle the issue of poverty in our city. We provide the platform - you provide the passion, energy, and knowledge. TOGETHER that is a beautiful thing. Position & Description The Spiritual Growth Team directly supports CityLink’s vision and mission through creating a safe environment where clients and other volunteers from different backgrounds can grow in their understanding of who God is and the life He has uniquely designed for us. Knowing that a growing relationship with God is important, as a volunteer you can share in your journey with others. By recognizing that we are all a part of God’s story and together are characters in sharing it, we can offer grace, support, and encouragement to Clients and fellow Volunteers alike. Responsibilities In agreement with CityLink Center statement of faith, (short version): 1. We believe the Bible to be inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God 2. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, Holy Spirit 3. We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ 4. We believe in the ministry of the Holy Spirit 5. We believe that since the fall of Adam all people are lost sinners 6. We believe in the church as a people not just a building To show the love of Christ to all, at all times Position Qualifications You will not be expected to lead or teach immediately after signing up – we have partner church pastors who will guide and assist. Once comfortable, you can partner with the Spiritual Growth Director to assess when you’re ready to lead. Teaching Community Bible Study Groups 1. Strong teaching faith in the word of God 2. Teach clients from different backgrounds, knowledge, and spiritual walks to grow their understanding of whom God is and the life He has uniquely designed for us 3. Willing to share your personal faith and stories of how you are walking- out that teaching Prayer Group 1. Ability to lead small group 2. Have a personal prayer life 3. Willing to pray for others 4. An interest in learning more about God and the Bible 2. Have an open mind and heart 3. Follow the lead Pastor’s guidance Time Commitment Bible Study 1. Tuesdays 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. 2. Thursdays 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (Men’s Group only) Prayer Group 1. Tuesdays 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Devotional) 2. Wednesdays 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. (Prayer) Training 1.
