Telem turned two this year, and we couldn’t have done it without you! 2012 saw Telem extend its reach to impact 20% more kids of African descent in the NYC metro area. Our partners were key to our success. Telem collaborated with the Citizens Committee for New York City to host an expanded radio workshop; the Vanderbilt YMCA and Alexandra Zabriskie of A to Z Tutor to offer a SAT prep course; the District Office of Councilmember Helen Diane Foster to participate in Community Enrichment Day; and with the African Leadership Project and Association of African Journalists and Writers to launch the Ubuntu Initiative.
