Dear Parents/Carers Moreton Bay Regional Council is holding a Travel Choice art competition in our school between June 22nd 2015 and July 17th 2015. The Travel Choice art competition is aimed at raising student awareness of the benefits of using active travel - like cycling, scootering, skateboarding, walking, public transport and carpooling to and from school. The competition also gives students an opportunity to creatively promote these options within the local community. Students are invited to design a poster that reflects these sustainable modes of travel, or focus on the links between these forms of transport and broader environmental issues such as reducing pollution or improving health. A selection of posters from Travel Choice schools in the Moreton Bay Region will be chosen to be published in the 2016 Moreton Bay Regional Council Travel Choice calendar. In November, each participating school will receive one calendar per family, as well as extra copies for the artwork winners and teachers. The Mayor and Councillors will also receive copies of the calendar to distribute throughout the region. All posters are to be handed into the office by 3pm Friday July 17th. Good luck to all of our students. Mrs Tina Burrows Deputy Principal.
