ICSID is pleased to present an introductory course on arbitration under
the ICSID Convention. The Course will take place at the Cairo Regional
Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA) in Cairo, Egypt.
This course will guide participants through each stage of an arbitration,
and discuss recent developments in international investment arbitration,
current trends in the ICSID caseload, dispute prevention and other
practical considerations. The course is intended for counsel, arbitrators,
law students and anyone interested in ICSID arbitration. It will be taught
by Meg Kinnear, the ICSID Secretary-General, and ICSID Legal Counsels.
Comprehensive course materials will be provided.
CRCICA and ICSID are also pleased to present their first Joint Conference
on International Investment Arbitration, addressing “Key Issues in
International Investment Arbitration”. The panelists will feature
renowned regional experts and practitioners in international investment
arbitration. Some of the main topics they will address include: the
nationality of the investor, salient issues in expropriation, transparency
in investment arbitration and analysis of post-awards remedies for
investment awards.
The registration fee for both events will be US$350 (registration for
only one of the two events will be US$200). The ICSID Course is free
of charge for a limited number of government officials with dispute
settlement engagement, subject to room space availability.
