1. Login
a) Enter your Login Name and Password.
b) Please enter your username that is your matric
number in capital letter and the default password is
unitary.
c) Then click the Submit button to proceed and Reset
button to cancel. (Refer to Figure 1a)

This will display the main page. To view the menu for your
assigned course; click the course code under the main menu.
(Refer to Figure 2a). This will display the course menu (Refer
to Figure 2b)

2.1
Course Announcement
To view a course announcement:
a) To get to the course announcement page, click the
Course Announcement link under Course menu.
b) You will be displayed with a list of announcement
posted before (if there is any). (Refer to Figure
2.1a)
c) To view the announcement content, click the course
announcement topic
d) The announcement content will then be displayed.

To view an attachment:
a) If there is any attachment included, click on the file
name to open it. (Refer to Figure 2.1b)

b) A pop-up window will appear asking if you want to
download the attachment file or to cancel the action.

c) To download the file, click the Download button.
d) To cancel from retrieving the Attachment, click the
Done or Close button.

e) Another pop-up window (Refer to Figure 2.1d) will
appear asking you whether to save the attachment
to disk or to just open the file from its current
location.

If you choose to save to disk, a pop-up window will
then appear asking you to decide the file name, file
type and location to save the attachment.
g) Click the Save button to save it or the Cancel
button if you decided not to save it to disk.

Course Outline
To view a Course Outline:
a) To get to the Course Outline page, click the Course
Outline link under Course menu.
b) You will be displayed with the course outline for that
course (Refer to Figure 2.2a).

FTF Schedule
To view the FTF Schedule:
a) To get to the FTF Schedule page, click the FTF
Schedule link under Course menu.
b) The schedule will be displayed as below (If there is
any). (Refer to Figure 2.3a).

Exam Schedule
To view the exam schedule:
a) To get to the exam schedule page, click the Exam
Schedule link under Course menu.
b) The schedule will be displayed as below (If there is
any). (Refer to Figure 2.4a).

To view a course announcement:
a) To get to the Courseware page, click the
Courseware link under Course menu.
b) Courseware contains two sub menu :
 Web Courseware
 Web Courseware 2

To view the Web Courseware:
a) Click Web Courseware and you will be able to view
the web-based courseware for that course.
b) The following is an example of web-based
courseware for Business Ethics and Values. (Refer to
Figure 2.5.1a)

To view the Web Courseware 2:
a) Web Courseware2 is the detail course outline for that
courseware.
b) To get to the Web Courseware2 page, select
Courseware >> Web Courseware2 under Course
Menu.
c) Next, click Web Courseware2 and you will be able to
view the detail course outline for that course (refer
to Figure 2.5.2a).

Additional Notes
To view an Additional Notes:
a) To get to the Additional Notes page, click the
Additional Notes link under Course menu.
b) You will be able to view any additional notes
pertaining to this course.
c) If there are any additional notes for the course, the
notes will be displayed.
d) To view the notes, click the notes topic. (Refer to
Figure 2.6a)

e) The system will display the details of the notes
selected. (Refer to Figure 2.6b)

To view other notes, click the Cancel button. You
will be redirected back to the same page as in
Figure 2.6a.
To view an attachment:
a. Refer to “To View an Attachment”.

Course Forum
To view a course forum:
a) To get to the Course Forum page, click the Course
Forum link under Course menu.
b) A list of course forum posted will be displayed. (Refer
to Figure 2.7a)
c) To view all the replies to the forum message, click
the View All link

d) Select the course forum to view by clicking the
Forum Name available.

e) The forum and replies to that forum will be
displayed. Select which message to view by selecting
the topic.

You will see the details of forum message and to
post follow up message field are also provided to
reply the message. (Refer to Figure 2.7c).
g) Click Post button to submit the message and click
Back button to go to the previous page.

Student Forum
To view the Student Forum:
a) To get to the Student Forum page, select Student
Forum link under Course menu.

b) You can view forum messages posted by other
students, or create new forum message.
c) To view the forum message, click on the selected
Forum title. (Refer to Figure 2.8a)

d) When clicked on the forum title, the forum message
will be displayed. You can reply, edit, delete or
cancel using the back button to the forum message
(Refer to Figure 2.8b).

To create a new Student Forum:
a) Click the Create New Forum link. (Refer to Figure
2.8a)
b) Fill in the forum’s name and message and then click
the Submit button
c) If you decided not to create any new course forum,
click the Cancel button to cancel it (Refer to Figure
2.8c).

To reply the student forum message:
a) To reply the message, click on the Reply link
provided. (Refer to Figure 2.8b)
b) The Student Forum reply page will be displayed. You
can write the reply in the message text box
provided.
c) Click on the Submit button to post the reply. The
reply will be included in the Student Forum message
list. (Refer to Figure 2.8d)
d) To cancel from replying the forum message, click on
the Cancel button. (Refer to Figure 2.8d)

To edit the student forum message:
a) To edit the message, click on the Edit link provided.
(Refer to Figure 2.8b)
b) The Student Forum edit page will be displayed. You
can edit the Forum title and the message.
c) When completed, click on the Update button
provided. (Refer to Figure 2.8e)
d) You can click on the Cancel button to cancel editing
the message.
Note: Only the student who had posted the forum
message can edit his own message.

To delete the student forum message:
a) To delete the message, click on the Delete button
provided. (Refer to Figure 2.8b)
b) After clicking on the Delete button, a message asking
you to confirm the action will be displayed.
c) Click on the Delete button to delete the message.
(Refer to Figure 2.8f)
d) To cancel from deleting the message, click on the
Cancel button.

Assignment
To view an assignment:
a) To get to the Assignment page, click the
Assignment link under Course menu
b) You will be displayed with a list of assignments
posted before (if there is any). (Refer to Figure
2.9a)
c) To view any of the assignment, click the assignment
topic.

d) Descriptions of that assignment will then be
displayed. (Refer to Figure 2.9b)

To view an attachment:
a) Refer to “To View an Attachment”.
To submit assignment:
a) To submit an assignment, click the Submit
Assignment link provided in the view assignment
page. (Refer to Figure 2.9b)

b) The Submit Assignment page will be displayed.

c) Write the assignment in the text box provided and
click on the Submit button. (Refer to Figure 2.9c)
d) You can cancel the action at any time by clicking on
the Cancel button.
Note : To edit an assignment, please resubmit your
assignment and the latest submission will replace the
previous one. Please make sure you do it before the
submission dateline.
To upload an attachment:
a) To attach a file with the new additional notes, click
the Attachment link. (Refer to Figure 2.9c)
b) The Upload Attachment window will appear. (Refer
to Figure 2.9d)

c) Click the Browse button to find the location of the
file to be attached.
d) Click the Open button to select that file. (Refer to
Figure 2.9e)

e) After locating the file, click the Submit button.

If you wish to change the attached file, click on the
Reset button and repeat steps c and d
g) You can cancel the action by clicking the Close
button.
h) Upon completing, click the Done button to confirm
the file name to be attached. (Refer to Figure 2.9f)

2.10 FAQ
To view the course frequently asked questions
(FAQ):
a) To get to the FAQ page, click the FAQ link under
Course menu.
b) The Course FAQ will be displayed. Select the chapter
of which the FAQ is to be displayed from the dropdown list. (Refer to Figure 2.10a)
c) Once you have specified the chapter, the list of
frequently asked questions will be displayed.
d) You can scroll down to read all the questions and
answers.

2.11 Virtual Library
To view the Virtual Library:
a) To get to the Virtual Library page, click the Virtual
Library link under Course menu.
b) To acces the UNITAR virtual library, students need to
use the matric number and password same as the
VOISS login.
c) You will be taken directly to your Virtual Library
homepage (Refer to Figure 2.12a).

2.12 Lecturer
To view list of lecturer:
a) To get to the Lecturer page, click the Lecturer link
under Course menu.
b) A list of lecturers’ name, email and faculty will be
displayed. (Refer to Figure 2.13a)

To send email to lecturer:
a) To send an email to a particular lecturer, click the
email address corresponding to the lecturer’s name.
(Refer to Figure 2.13a)
b) A new window will appear. You can write the email in
the text box provided.

c) Click the Submit button to send the email.
d) To cancel the action, click the button Cancel. (Refer
to Figure 2.13b)
e) If you wish to send an email to all lecturers, just
click at Mail to All button (Refer to Figure 2.13a) .

Next, follow the same steps as before.
2.13 Classmate

To view list of classmate:
a) To get to the Classmate page, click Classmate link
under Course menu.
b) A list of students’ ID, Name, Email, and Status that
have enrolled in the same course will be displayed.

To send email to classmate:
a) To send an email to a particular student, click the
email address corresponding to the student’s name.
(Refer to Figure 2.14a)
b) new window will appear. You can write the email in
the text box provided.
c) Click the Submit button to send the email.
d) To cancel the action, click the Cancel button (Refer
to Figure 2.14b).
e) If you wish to send an email to all students, just click
at Mail to All button (Refer to Figure 2.14a).

3. Course Confirmation
To view the Course Confirmation:
a) To get to the course confirmation page, click the
Course Confirmation link under main menu.
b) Check the course registered and click Confirm button
if you agree with the registered courses (Refer to
Figure 3.1a).

Online Course Registration
To view an Online Course Registration :
a) To get to the online course registration page, click the
Online Course Registration link under main menu.
b) There will be provided with two button categories
which is Online Course Registration and Online
Major Course Registration button. (Refer to Figure
4.1a).
c) The online course registration button is usefull for
student to register a selected courses from the

scheduled courses display.
d) To register courses, click on the Register button.

e) The registered courses will be displayed at the courses
registed area. (Refer to Figure 4.1b).

Students are allowed to change registered courses by
clicking on the SWAP button and remove courses by
clicking on the DROP button.
Note : SWAP button is only available when students have
fulfilled the minimun credit hours for the semester.
g) To view the FTF schedule, click on the FTF button.
h) The popup message will be displayed as shown below.

To view an Online Major Course Registration :
a) Click on the Online Major Course Registration button.
b) The major titles of the program will be displayed. (Refer to
Figure 4.1e).

the Submit Registration button.
d) If you cannot decide yet or want to view the details of the
major courses offered, click on the Not Yet Decided or
View Major Courses Offered button
e) The details of the courses will be displayed as shown below
and click on Back button to go to the previous page. (Refer
to Figure 4.1f).

5. View My Course History
To view the View My Course History:
a) To get the view My Course History page, click the link
under the main menu.
b) The list of courses taken and your details will be
shown as below.
c) The completed, exempted, credit transferred and the
current registered courses will be displayed for your
reference. (Refer to Figure 5.1a).

6. View My Result
To view the View My Result:
a) To get to the View My Result page, click the link under
main menu.
b) Your Examination Result page will be displayed as
shown below. (Refer to Figure 6.1a).

7. General Forum
To view the general Forum:
a) To get to the General Forum page, click the link
under main menu.
b) You will be displayed with a list of forums with details
such as Topic Forum, number of replies and posted
by whom. (Refer to Figure 7.1a)
c) To view the related forum, click on the View link.

8. Student Billing
To view the Student Billing:
a. To get to the Student Billing page, click the link under
main menu.
b. The student particulars page will be displayed as below.

c. Click on Explanation on Billing Statement link to know
details about billing statement (Refer to Figure 8.1b).

9. Change Password
To change password:
a) To chance password, click Change Password button at the
top menu.
b) Next, enter your old and new password and a confirm new
password
c) Then, click the Submit button to proceed and Cancel
button to cancel (Refer to Figure 9.1a).

10. General Announcement
To view the general announcement:
a) Click on the General Announcement button at the top
menu.
b) You will be displayed with a list of announcement. The
announcements are divided into three categories which are
general, programme and study centre. Students are only
allowed to view the announcements related to their
programme and study centre. The recent 7 days
announcement will be short listed at the latest
announcement field as a quick reference to students.

c) Click on any of the Announcement Title links.
d) You will be displayed with a page that contains the
announcement title, sender and date. The clip icon shows
the attachment is included in the message. To view the
announcement details, click on the announcement title link.

e) You can as well download the attachment enclosed (Refer to
Figure 10.1c).
f) Click on Back button tu return to General Announcement
page.

Note : Do use Search function to find any announcements.
11. Bulletin
To view the bulletin:
a) Click on the Bulletin button at the top menu.
b) Click on any available bulletin to display (Refer to
Figure11.1a).

c) You will be displayed with a page that contains details such
as a field to post a new bulletin, Bulletin Subject, Posted On
and Posted By. (Refer to Figure 11.1b)

d) Click on any bulletin subject.
e) You will be displayed with a page that contains details such
as Subject, Date, From, Email and Message. (Refer to
Figure 11.1c)

Click on Email Address link to send an email to sender.
g) Click on Back Button to return to bulletin list.

To post New Bulletin :
a) Fill in the Post New Bulletin area after you click the Bulletin
categories.
b) Next, enter your subject and message.
c) Then, click the Submit button to proceed and Cancel
button to cancel (Refer to Figure 11.1b).
12. Email
To view the email:
a) To get to the Email page, click the Email button at the top
menu.
b) Enter your UserID and Password.
c) Then, click the Login button to proceed or close the window
to cancel. (Refer to Figure 12.1a).

13. Help Desk
To view the help desk :
a) To get to the Help Desk page, click the Help button at the top
menu
b) The Menu page will be displayed
c) Click on the sub menu if user want to go further. (Refer to
Figure 13.1a).

14. Logout
To logout from the system:
a) To logout from the system, click the Logout link under the
main menu. This will exit the system.(Refer figure 14.1)
