The post-holder will be self-motivated, diligent and discreet and feel empowered to do their best within
the ethos of the organisation. They will report to the Lead Youth Worker and work within a small team
of professionals and volunteers.
The role is part time for 15 hours per week and there may be an opportunity in time to expand the role
and enable personal development.
Key aspects of the role







Enable our Youth Workers (YW’s) to maximise their contact time with young people by
providing support and completing delegated tasks which enable our YW’s to be highly
effective
Ensure that the office is manned at core hours by creating and maintaining a rota
Participate in planning, organising and ensuring smooth delivery of events on the day and put
administrative systems in place that are user friendly
Complete database work, maintaining accurate and timely records and running reports
Update our website as author to ensure it is current and informative
Capture and communicate referrals to the team in a timely and prioritised manner
Ensure our data quality is accurate, secure, timely, consistent and repeatable
Be a Volunteer Coordinator



Recruit, interview and induct volunteers
Liaise with and create rotas for their work in line with YW’s
Assign tasks effectively to Admin Volunteers and follow up
Undertake Communications




Maintain communications with key stakeholders, write reports, organise logistics associated
with events & co-ordinate activities
Create and maintain an events calendar
Undertake newsletter production working with team
Use all media channels that young people use to communicate
Skills required







Competent in Microsoft suite of products
Communicate positively and is effective both verbally and in writing
Work well under pressure
Competent in time management and prioritisation of work
Able to respect confidentiality
Able to secure value for money on all authorised expenditure, including office supplies &
consumables and manage financial transactions
Capacity to solve problems and learn new skills
Knowledge required


Basic understanding of Detached Youth Work goals
Fundamental understanding of the importance of a business plan
Ability to be Flexible
Small organisations tend to need to be multi-faceted and that means we need someone who can be
adaptable to different demands and be adaptable to challenges and do things proactively & efficiently.
The working hours can be flexible around ensuring the office is open and that communications are
timely. It is also important to be flexible about working during school holidays as this is when a lot of
our key events actually take place. We may very occasionally need you to attend events to contribute
to smooth running by providing administrative support.

Youth Worker Facilitator post £15,000 - £17,785 FTE (Actual £6,000 - £ 7,114.00) p.a. dependent on
experience. Your annual salary will be reviewed annually. In addition, TRAIN will pay a 3% of salary
pension contribution.
The post is part-time at 15 hours per week.
